What is a Thrust Ratio?

A caulking gun's thrust ratio is the amount of force delivered to the cartridge compared with the force you apply to the trigger.

For example, an 11:1 thrust ratio means that for every 1kg of force applied to the trigger, approximately 11kg of force is applied to the cartridge plunger.

How is Thrust Ratio Calculated?
